Our class saw another movie about the Holocaust. In the beginning, there were tons of people running around naked. Some were chosen for what the Nazis called "transport" but was really people being killed. Also, woman were pricking their fingers and wiping the blood on their cheeks so that they wouldn't be chosen for "transport". The blood on their cheeks gave their cheeks color so they looked healthy. These kids were running around hiding places so they wouldn't have to be taken away and killed. This one boy had to hide in a toilet with these other kids. I never realized how bad the Holocaust really was. That was very nasty but he had no where else to go. I felt really sorry for all of those people.

Schindler's List

Today in English class we watched part of Schindler's List. This guy got his brains blown out in the beginning. It showed a lot of stuff the desperate Jews did to keep from being killed or hurt. We only got to see a little bit of the movie, then the bell rang. It was really cool as a movie, but really sad because it really happened. I guess I never thought of it really happening. I mean, I knew it happened, but it never actually sunk in 'til now. It is very sickening. I am so mad that people would do that. Well, I have thought about it before. Before, it was just a part of history; now, I am so appalled. The thought of it is HORRIBLE!!! I cannot believe it, this guy in the movie was climbing into a SEWER!!!! That was so gross!!! His wife or girlfriend (I never found out which) kept on saying:
"I won't go into the sewers!". He didn't listen to her, the first time she said it he kissed her and said:
"Yes, you can...". She then continued to yell those six words at him, over and over again, until he left. I wonder if she goes into the sewers.
I was so sad when I first saw that part of the movie. It can only get worse. I have read about the Holocaust and Anne Frank, but it never really sank in before.

"If you cried, you died"

Today we watched a movie called "If you cried, you died". It was about two people that survived the Holocaust. They had numbers tattooed on their arms from when they were at Aushwitz, a death camp in Holland. That was the last place they saw their families. It was really sad and thought-provoking. Although, for the first ten minutes of the movie, there were several kids that talked about how hurting some verbally or physically because of their race or religion is wrong. Well, it's wrong to do that for any reason besides self-defense. I never had thought about how bad it actually is today. The Holocaust and events such as it in history aren't the only times that it has and is happened and happening. I guess that sentence makes sense. Oh well, if it doesn't I'm sorry, Mrs. Chapman.
